Home Setting
The couple who run the home live on the premises and are an integral part of the children’s and teenagers’ daily lives. This provides them with a sense of reliability, closeness, and a family-like environment.
We often support children and adolescents over many years—from early childhood through adolescence and beyond. A consistent team of staff members ensures reliable relationships and continuity in daily life. This stability is a central pillar of our work.
Approximately 700 m² of living space, a 500 m² indoor play area, and spacious outdoor areas offer a wide range of opportunities for community, quiet time, and personal growth.
Nestled in a village setting and right next to a nature reserve, our location offers a wide range of opportunities for exercise, relaxation, and a slower pace of life in a natural setting.
Through cooking, baking, sewing, and helping out around the house together, children and teens learn basic everyday skills. In supervised activities, they discover how taking action on their own helps them take on responsibility and develop a sense of self-efficacy.

Education
Through active participation in the vegetable garden and in raising chickens, children and teenagers learn to take on responsibility and experience natural processes firsthand.
Whether in a group or one-on-one, we spend a lot of time outdoors in nature—especially when we go hiking, exploring, or building things together. Through these activities, children and teens gain valuable experiences that strengthen their character and foster social skills.
Through a variety of projects in the fields of music, dance, and theater, children and adolescents are engaged and supported both individually and in groups. Creative outlets build self-confidence, support emotional development, and foster social skills.
The regular sports and physical activity programs offered by our sports therapist promote health, self-efficacy, and social skills. Neuroscientific findings also show that physical activity is closely linked to language development and positively supports learning processes.
Thanks to our employees’ wide range of athletic interests and skills, children and teenagers have many opportunities to try new things, discover their own interests, and push their limits. In the process, they develop important skills such as teamwork, frustration tolerance, and perseverance.
As part of our immersion program, young adults from abroad regularly live and work with us as part of a BFD. This allows the children to experience English as a natural part of everyday life while also gaining intercultural experiences.
Every young person is unique. That’s why—whenever possible—we create individualized programs and development paths that are tailored to their specific needs and strengths.

“After many years at Lebenshaus, I can say this: The long-standing, trusting relationships with the children are the foundation on which they can grow and flourish safely.”
